  • Experience a sense of calm from the minute you cross the bridge onto Marco Island until the last sunset before you leave. With its three and a half miles of soft, white, sandy beach, it's no wonder Marco Island's Tigertail beach was voted #1 in Southwest Florida in 2004. It is a lush, tropical paradise ideal for shelling, walking and sunbathing. Swimming and sunbathing are always popular and the Gulf is suitable for swimming all year round. With a wide variety of rare and unique shells, Marco Beach is a sheller's delight.

Don't be surprised when you are greeted by dolphins, as they are seen regularly rolling around in the waves off the shore. And from May 1st to October 1st, Sea Turtles make their nests on Marco Beach. For more information, go to City of Marco Island Sea Turtle Conservation Brochure

Marco Island is the last barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico on the southwest tip of Florida. Two hours west of Miami and just twenty minutes south of Naples, it is the largest of the 10,000 Islands at the western gateway to Everglades National Park. Winter daytime temperatures are generally in the 70 to 80 range and summer temperatures rarely break the low 90's due to being an Island receiving the cool breezes from the Gulf of Mexico.
